This workshop is for 16+

Classes are 2 hrs total, including up to 10 mins of clean up time. In this beginner-friendly handbuilding workshop, you’ll learn how to make your own functional ceramic citrus press using slab-building techniques. This is a great introduction to working with clay and creating practical pieces for everyday use. A perfect project for summer, this citrus press is ideal for fresh juices, cocktails, or adding a handmade touch to your kitchen. No experience is needed — all tools, clay, and materials are provided.

During this 2-hour session, you will make one citrus press and have time to decorate it with underglaze painting, or pick a glaze color instead — we’ll glaze them for you after firing.

  • Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your session begins. We allow a 15-minute grace period to ensure everyone has a smooth and enjoyable experience.
  • We cannot be held responsible for any personal items left behind, so please remember to take all your belongings with you when you leave.
  • Finished pieces must be picked up within 1 month of notification. After this time, unclaimed items will be discarded.
  • Pottery is a delicate process, and sometimes pieces may crack or break during drying or firing. This can happen for many reasons—like air bubbles forming while you pulled up the clay, not enough compression at the base, drying too quickly due to weather, or issues during kiln firing. While we do our best to prevent this and it doesn’t happen often, we can’t guarantee that every piece will survive the full process 100% of the time. It’s all part of the pottery journey—and at Clayground, we embrace the wabi-sabi mindset: perfectly imperfect.
