Curious about silver clay and wondering if it’s real silver?
Yes — it is. ✨

In this workshop, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind ring using .999 fine silver clay, a special material made from real silver particles combined with an organic binder, which makes it moldable like clay. Once fired, the binder burns away, leaving behind solid, pure .999 silver.

This is a hands-on, intimate workshop focused on slow, delicate making — perfect for creating something meaningful and wearable.

Silver Clay Ring – FAQ

Yes. Silver clay is made from .999 fine silver particles mixed with an organic binder. Once fired in the kiln, the binder burns away completely, leaving behind solid .999 pure silver.

Absolutely. After firing, your ring is 100% solid .999 fine silver — the same purity used in fine jewellery.

Kiln firing produces the strongest, most consistent, and highest-quality silver results.

By firing silver clay in a temperature-controlled kiln:

  • The organic binder burns away evenly and completely
  • The silver particles fully sinter (fuse together), creating a denser, stronger piece
  • The finished ring is less brittle and more durable for everyday wear
  • Stone settings are more secure due to even heat distribution
  • The surface finish is smoother and more professional

Compared to torch-fired silver clay, kiln-fired silver results in a truer .999 fine silver piece with better longevity and structural integrity.

This is why we kiln-fire all silver clay pieces in our workshop — it ensures your ring is not only beautiful, but also meant to last.

Yes, with normal care. Fine silver is softer than sterling silver, so while it’s durable for everyday wear, we recommend:

  • Removing it for heavy manual work
  • Avoiding harsh chemicals
  • You’ll receive a silver polishing cloth to keep it looking beautiful.

All real silver can tarnish over time — that’s how you know it’s real.

We include an anti-tarnish storage strip and polishing cloth, and regular wear actually helps reduce tarnish.

Yes! Your ring will be fired in our kiln during the workshop, and you’ll leave with your finished, wearable ring at the end of the session. There is no pickup wait time.

Not at all. This workshop is beginner-friendly and guided step-by-step. However, the process is slower and much more delicate than pottery, so a soft touch is preferred.

We use AAA+ quality zircon gemstones, which are durable, sparkly, and ideal for kiln firing.

Each participant may set up to 4 stones.

Additional stones are available during the workshop:

  • Small stones: $2 each
  • Large stones: $5 each
